THE Lagos State Government has announced plans to divert traffic at Ijora from Friday, following a notification received from the Federal Ministry of Works on the Ijora Eastlink/Causeway project.
The Commissioner for Transportation, Dr Frederic Oladeinde, who made this known in a statement on Tuesday, said that the diversion would last till Sunday.
He said that motorists would be diverted into the National Arts Theatre to access Ijora and Costain, as the flexible pavement linking Eko Bridge would be under rehabilitation.
Oladeinde assured the motoring public of efficient traffic management by the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority along the affected routes during the period.
He urged the road users to cooperate with the government to minimise inconveniences on the affected roads.
Oladeinde said that the ongoing projects across the state were geared towards creating and maintaining an efficient transportation system. (NAN)
