
LASG endorses Destination Lagos Awards, Oju Ibile-Eko Beauty Pageant

THE Lagos State Government through its Ministry of Tourism, Art and Culture has officially endorsed the Destination Lagos Awards (DELA) and Oju Ibile Eko Beauty Pageant 2024.
Mr Samson Apata, the Chairman Eko Destination Ltd., said this in a statement on Thursday in Lagos.
According to him, the endorsement is an attempt to further celebrate the rich cultural heritage of Lagos and promote a global brand.
Apata, who is a notable Lagos tourism professional, Director of Eko Online Radio and Chairman Association of Tourism Practitioners (ATPN), Lagos State said the event would promote culture and tourism.
He said that the event is aimed at recognising outstanding individuals who had contributed immensely into Lagos tourism development.
“This is through impactful leadership and promotion of Lagos tourism potentials such as cultural heritage, hospitality businesses, creative arts, museums management and lots more
“DELA is a groundbreaking award that showcases the best of Lagos and Nigeria.
“The maiden edition of the event is scheduled to hold in three phases between September and October this year, 2024,” he said.
He said that as part of the outlined programmes, the classy award event tend to also showcase the originality of our content as a people, the real LAGOS that we represent.
The chairman said this would be through several expressions such as beauty pageant, cultural display, talent discovery and lot more
Apata said that the DELA would be given platforms to interested persons, companies, and tourism practitioners who wish to be a part of this epoch making event through sponsorship and advertisement.
