Late Chief of Staff was my guardian in politics – Gov. Bindow

Gov. Muhammadu Bindow of Adamawa has described his late Chief of Staff, Alhaji Abdurrahman Abba as his guardian in politics.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Abba died on Monday in Mecca, Saudi Arabia while performing lesser Hajj (Umrah).
He made this known Wednesday in Yola at a valedictory session organised by the State Executive Council in honour of the late Chief of Staff.
Bindow said Abba had been his pillar in politics and had played vital role in his emergence as a senator and later as state governor.
Also speaking, the Deputy Governor, Mr Martins Babale described the deceased as “a dogged fighter and emancipator”.
In his contribution, the Secretary to the State Government, Dr Umar Bindir said: “Abba was a team player who passed his exams with flying colours.”
The state’s Head of Service, Mr Louis Mandama, urged for the sustenance of the late Chief of staff’s legacy of frankness and selfless service.
In his remarks, the state’s Commissioner of Information and Strategy, Mr Ahmad Sajoh, who narrated his working relationship with Abba, said the deceased had left an indelible mark.
Other speakers eulogised Abba, and urged government to immortalise him by naming a street in Yola after him.
Meanwhile, members of the Adamawa Traditional Council led by the Chairman, the Lamido of Adamawa, Alhaji Barkindo Mustafa, had paid a condolence visit on Gov. Bindow over the death.
Speaking at the condolence, Barkindo said the death of Abba was not only a big loss to his political associates but to all people of the state.(NAN)
