GOV. Dapo Abiodun of Ogun has described the death of a bisuness mogul, Chief Christopher Ogunbanjo, as a great loss to the state, Nigeria and humanity in general.
This is contained in a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr Lekan Adeniran, on Sunday in Abeokuta.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Ogunbanjo, who was born on Dec. 14, 1923, died on Saturday, two months to his 100th birthday.
Abiodun, who commiserated with the family of the late corporate lawyer, said that the deceased was a worthy son of the state, a great philanthropist and guru in the world of business during his lifetime.
He said that Ogunbanjo distinguished himself as a very cerebral corporate lawyer who combined the knowledge of law with entrepreneurial shrewdness.
Abiodun prayed God to grant the family of the deceased the strength to bear the irreplaceable loss and an eternal rest for the departed soul.
He commiserated with the Awujale and Paramount Ruler of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona and the people of the state on the demise of Ogunbanjo.
The governor also commiserated with the business community in the country on the loss of their prominent member.
“My heartfelt condolences to the entire dynasty of Ogunbanjo over the passing of their patriarch who passed on to glory few months to his 100th birthday.
“We take solace in the fact that Baba lived a very impactful and eventful life, to the glory of God and selfless service to humanity.
“May God, in His infinite mercy, rest his soul and grant his family the requisite fortitude to bear the irreparable loss,” he said. (NAN)
