Lawmaker assures Nasarawa State of conducive business environment

Nasarawa State House of Assembly is poised to work hand-in-glove with the Executive to create an enabling environment for businesses to thrive in the state.

This declaration was made in Lafia on Tuesday by Mr Mohammed Isah, Chairman, House Committee on Capital Market, when officials of the state’s Ministry of Trade, Commerce and Industry appeared before the committee for an assessment of its 2020 budget performance.

Isah (APC, Uke/ Karshi constituency) said the creation of an enabling business environment would also improve internal revenue generation and collection and the standard of living of the people of the state.

He said that the ministry was a critical and fundamental agency to achieve the plan, hence its invitation to the House to assess its budget performance.

He expressed satisfaction with the ministry’s budget performance and assured it of the committee’s continued support.

“I want to assure you of robust collaboration that will assist in providing an enabling environment for commercial activities to prosper in the state,’’ Isah said.

In his remarks, Commissioner for Trade, Commerce and Industry, Mr Obadiah Boyi, thanked the committee for its cooperation with the ministry and appealed for its sustenance.

He restated the ministry’s effort to continue to improve on revenue generation in the state. (NAN)
