Lawmaker donates 500KVA transformer to Niger community

Rep. Jafaru Mohammed, representing Borgu/Agwara Federal Constituency in Niger has donated a 500KVA transformer worth over N3 million to New Bussa community to boost electricity supply in the area.
In an interview on Tuesday with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in New Bussa, he said the move was to address the challenges of electricity supply faced by his people.
Mohammed said that the transformer would boost power supply as well as promote economic activities in the community.
The lawmaker decried a situation where a host community for power generation in the country would stay without electricity.
He reiterated his commitment to the provision of dividends of democracy to the people of the area.
Mohammed appealed to the people to be patient with the All Progressive Congress (APC) led administration of President Muhammadu Buhari as it was committed to the development of the country.
Malam Abdullahi Baah, a youth leader in the area, thanked the lawmaker for the gesture.
Baah pledged that the youths would support the lawmaker in his efforts to develop the area. (NAN)
