Lawmaker wants employment for deceased colleague’s son

REP. Leke Abejide, (ADC-Kogi) has urged the House of Representatives to assist in finding a job for the son of a deceased lawmaker, Rep. Yuguda Kila who died on March 4.
Abejide, also Deputy Chairman, House Committee on Customs and Excise, made the plea during a valedictory session in honor of Kila at the House on Tuesday.
“One thing I want to beg us here is for this very enterprising son who has been calling me since the sad incident.
“He said he does not have where to go; I think he worked with his father as Senior Legislative Aide (SLA).
“If there is any employment opportunity either in government ministries, departments or agencies, let us do well to help him,” he said.
Speaker of House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila described Kila as a perfect gentleman.
“Our hearts are with the people of Jigawa and his family.
“I called him three weeks before his demise and he was doing fine, but not too long he called me back to say goodbye,” Gbajabiamila said.
Rep. Hassan Fulata, Chairman of House Committee on Rules and Business said Kila was an accomplished civil servant who retired after meritorious serve to join politics.
“He was an elder statesman, a man of peace and courage; his time has come, we love him but Allah loves him most.
“May Allah accept all his good deeds and forgive his shortcomings and grant him eternal rest,” he said.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Kila was the chairman of the House Committee on Customs and Excise before his demise at the National Hospital Abuja after a brief illness.
He represented the Gwaram Federal Constituency of Jigawa at the House before his death.(NAN)
