Liberia’s presidential Run-Off on 7 November
Politics
LIBERIA’S National Elections Commission (NEC) has fixed presidential run-off vote for 7 Nov. between President George Weah (CDC) and former vice-President Joseph Boakai (UP), frontrunners in the 10 October first round.
Weah got 43.79% against Boakai’s 43.49% from 99.5% of processed votes in the 10 October election.
NEC said the first round would be repeated on 20 October in Montserrado County in the capital Monrovia & Sinoe and Nimba Counties due to ballot tampering.
In the 2017 run-off, Weah beat Boakai by 61.5% to 38.5%, but Boakai could prevail this time going by emerging trend.
