List of 19 names sent to Abia State House of Assembly for screening as commissioners

AFTER one month of being sworn into office, Alex Otti,  Abia State governor, has sent 19 names to the State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation as commissioners. 

The names of the nominees are Prof Monica Ironkwe, Kingsely Anoribe; Prof Eme Uche; Philemon Asonye Ogbonna; Mike Akpara; Ngozi Okoronkwo; Okey Kanu; Ikechukwu Uwaoma; Chaka Chukwumereije, and Uzo Nwachukwu.

Others are Prof Joel Friday Ogbonna, Chima Emmanuel Oriaku; Nwaobilor Nwadimma Ananaba; Chimezie Isaac Ukaegbu; Ngozi Blessing Felix; Don Otumchere Oti; Sunny Okebugwu Onwuma; Ikechukwu Monday, and Mathew Chikodi Ekwuribe.

Governor Otti was sworn in on May 29 as the first Labour Party government in Abia after the reign of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in the State since 1999 of the current civilian regime was characterised by misgovernance.

The expectations are high for the new government to rejuvenate the State, especially Aba, the dilapidated commercial nerve center of the Abia State which has been in a state of decay over the years.
