HUMAN Rights Activist and social crusader Vincent Ezekwueme has extoled the virtues, impeccable character, integrity, transparency and uprightness of the Presidential Candidate of Labour Party, Peter Obi, for giving account of his presidential campaign funds to the public for scrutiny and verification in tandem with his accountability and “go and verify mantra”.
It is pertinent to note that when you are honest and transparent, there will be nothing to hide, hence you will be eager, willing and proud to give account of your stewardship.
In a statement, Ezekwueme recalled that truth can never be faulted, fortified or falsified. It is therefore significant and inevitable for the political class to emulate Obi’s selflessness, patriotism, prudent, transparency and overarching zeal to better the living conditions of the ordinary Nigerians and indigent students.
“Worthy of note is that Peter Obi has set a patriotic precedent that others should follow,” he said.
Ezekwueme, who is also CLO chairman in Anambra State, appeals to governments to take urgent and proactive steps to tackle insecurity, hyperinflation and depreciating value of the national currency in order to ameliorate the hardship of the citizens.
