Lulu drums support for Buhari among Igala/Bassa ethnic groups

SANI Lulu, former President, Nigeria’  Football Federation (NFF) has called on Igala and Bassa ethnic nationalities to queue behind President Muhammadu Buhari and support his second term bid for overall development of the area.

Lulu made the call on.Wednesday at Anyigba during a carnival procession organised by “Igala-Bassa Alliance for President Muhammadu Buhari continuity group” to sensitise the people of Kogi East Senatorial district on 2019 general elections.

The former NFF president noted that for the district to link with power in the centre, sustained human and material development  social, economic and political advancement, the people must support the president’s second term bid.

He described Buhari as a good leader with the interest and overall development and advancement of the country at heart.

He, therefore, urged electorate in the district to vote en-masse for the president, to give the flank a voice to ask for more in terms of human and material resources development.

Prof. Seidu Ogar, Director-General/Chief Executive, National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA), Abuja.said time had come for the people of the district to take their destiny in their hands and do the needful for their emancipation.

He said things had really gone bad in the Igala-Bassa nation and called for collective efforts for the areas to breathe the breath of life again, saying that the place needed collective support in all directions.

He enjoined leaders in the district to give the youth groups, maximum support in their quest to link the region with the leadership at the centre, where resources of this nation were being allocated.

The Director-General of the Alliance, Dr Goodman Akwu, had  earlier said that the group came into being as a result of love for the people and the land as well.as the need for development.

He said that there was a great need for the district to key into the Revalidation Agenda project of Mr President in order for him to complete ongoing projects and consolidate on the administration’s achievements in the district.

Aku,however, appealed to the people to play politics with decorum.

He said that Buhari remained the light that would illuminate the district and deliver it from the woods and therefore deserved their votes, come Feb.16.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the carnival attracted members of the Alliance from the nine local government areas of the district.
