Prof Adeyemo, 54, succeeds Prof Chris Bode who completed his two-term tenure on March 23. He has since been holding forth as CMD in acting capacity.

“The process of appointment of a substantive Medical Director commenced with the placement of advertisements for the post in Daily Trust and Guardian Newspapers of 14th November, 2022.
“Applications were duly screened and two eligible candidates participated in the selection interview on 12th and 13th April, 2023 at the Federal Ministry of Health, Abuja. At the end of the exercise, the two candidates scored above the required 60% pass mark,” the Minister said in his recommendation to President Muhammadu Buhari on 8th May, 2023.
