Man, 18, docked for allegedly stealing aluminium products

AN 18-year-old man, Umar Adam, was on Monday docked at an Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State for allegedly conspiring with others to steal aluminum products worth N1million.

Adam, whose address was not provided, is facing a two-count charge bordering on conspiracy and felony to wit stealing.

The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The prosecutor, Sgt. John Iberedem, told the court that the accused committed the offences on July 3, at 10 a.m., at Quinco West Africa Company along Ikorodu Road in  Ojota, Lagos State.

Iberedem said that the defendant stole aluminum products belonging to one Zhung Shun, a Chinese national.

According to the prosecutor, the offences contravene Sections 411 and 287(1) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015 (Revised).

Chief Magistrate F.A. Azeez admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum. He adjourned the case until Oct. 3 for mention. (NAN)
