Man, 23, charged with stealing police communication cable

THE police on Thursday arraigned one Rotimi Oluokun, 23, in Ibadan for allegedly stealing police communication cable worth N800, 000.
Oluokun, whose address was not provided is charged with stealing but he pleaded not guilty before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court.
The prosecutor, Insp Femi Omilana, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Sept. 21 about 3.40 p.m. at Mapo Hall in Ibadan.
Omilana said that the defendant stole 18 rolls of the cable belonging to Oyo State Police Command.
He said that the offence contravened Section 390(9) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The Magistrate, Mrs Gladys Oladele, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N500, 000 with two sureties in like sum.
Oladele adjourned the case until Dec. 11 for hearing. (NAN)
