Man, 35, in court for allegedly receiving stolen items

The police on Friday arraigned a 35-year-old Monsuru Adejumo in an Ebute Meta Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos, for allegedly receiving stolen property.
The defendant was brought on two-count charge of alleged conspiracy and dishonestly receiving stolen property to which he pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, ASP Emmanuel Silas, told the court that the defendant and others who are still at large had committed the offences on Oct. 30, 2020, at Iddo Terminus, Railway compound, Ebute Meta, Lagos.
He alleged that the defendant had dishonestly received a stolen Mark truck valued at N12 million belonging to one Mr Obinna Egbule.
The alleged offences contravened Sections 328 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs A.A. Oshoniyi, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties each in like sum.
She also adjourned the case until April 26. (NAN)
