A 40-year-old Emeka Anioko was docked on Thursday at a Kubwa Grade 1 Area Court, Abuja, over alleged land scam.
The defendant, of Chikakore village, Kubwa, Abuja, was docked over a count charge of cheating.
Anioko, however, pleaded not guilty to the offence.
The prosecutor, Babajide Olanipekun, told the court that the defendant deceived one Israel Adeowo into delivering N318, 000 to him for a parcel of land.
Olanipekun alleged that the defendant converted the money to his personal use.
He said that the offence contravened Section 321 of the Penal Code.
The Judge, Abdulwahab Mohammed, granted the defendant a bail of N300, 000 with one reliable surety resident within the court’s jurisdiction.
He adjourned the matter until July 9 for hearing. (NAN)
