Man, 45, arraigned for alleged assault

 A 45-year old man, Mukaila Wasiu who allegedly assaulted another, has appeared before an Ojo Magistrates’ Court in Lagos .

The defendant is standing trial before the Magistrate Mr L.J.K Layeni, on a one-count charge of assault.

He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The prosecutor, Dr Simon Uche, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Jan. 25 at Hassan bus stop in the Shibiri area of Ojo.

He, alleged that during a misunderstanding between the defendant and a complainant, one Wasiu Lasisi, a fight had ensued.

According to the prosecutor, the defendant had consequentlly, drawn out a knife which he used in inflicting injuries on the complainant, resulting in grievious body harm.

He told the court that the defendant was eventually arrested by the police and detained.

He said that the offence contravened the provision of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.

The court granted the defendant bail in the sum of N300,000 with two sureties in like sum, one of who must be a family member.

He adjourned trial until March 1. (NAN)
