Man, 45, in court over alleged threat to life, stealing

A 45-year old man, Ayodeji Sulaimon, was on Thursday, arraigned before an Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court, Lagos State, over alleged threat to life and stealing.

Sulaimon whose address was not given, is being charged with conspiracy, threat to life, stealing by conversion and unlawful seizure.

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Prosecutor, Insp Adegeshin Famuyiwa, told the court that the defendant committed the offences at about 1:35p.m on March 12, at Ilado Oke-Ogo Estate, Igbogbo, Ikorodu, Lagos.

Famuyiwa said that the defendant willfully and unlawfully placed a property belonging to the complainant, Mrs Fausat Oluwatosin for sale without her consent.

”He printed fake Deed of Assignment in the name of the complainant with the intent to steal the property,” he said.

He said that Sulaimon’s action was capable of causing a breach of community peace.

The prosecutor said that the defendant and others now at large, also intimidated and threatened to kill the complainant and her children.

He said that the offences contravened Sections 411, 168(1)(a)(d), 56(1)(a)(b),340, 168(b) and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The Magistrate, A. O. Ogbe granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100,000 with a surety in like sum.

Ogbe adjourned the case until April 25 for mention.(NAN)
