ONE Peter Olaoluwa, 47, on Thursday appeared before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, for alleged assault, conspiracy and conduct likely to cause breach of peace.

Olaoluwa, whose residential address was not provided, allegedly committed the offences from Sept. 4 to Sept. 8, 2022, at Igbeti, Ibadan.

The prosecutor, ASP Foluke Adedosu, told the court that the defendant and others at large  assaulted one Mr Muideen Adepoju by punching him everywhere.

The prosecutor said that the beating caused Adepoju,  the complainant, bodily harm.

She added that the defendant conducted himself in a manner likely to cause breach of peace by obstructing collection of  taxes for Oyo State Board of Internal Revenue.

According to her, the offences contravene Sections 516, 355 and 249(d) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.

The defendant however, pleaded not guilty.

The Magistrate, Mrs O. A. Enilolobo, granted him bail in the sum of N100, 000 with one surety.

She adjourned the case until March 27 for hearing. (NAN)
