A 60-year-old man, Ibrahim Sale, was on Wednesday sentenced to six months imprisonment by a Doma Area Court in Gombe, for selling dangerous stimulant for human consumption.

The Judge, Malam Aminu Haruna, said that the conviction of Sale, without option of fine, would begin on June 20.

Sale of Bolari Quarters, Gombe, was convicted upon his plea of guilty when the case was first mentioned on May 23.

The prosecution, Insp. Sumaila Shuaibu, said that Sale on May 21 committed the offence of selling a chemical known as “suck and die”.

Shuaibu said that the convict has been selling the chemical for over 30 years.

According to him, people in the area raised alarm after noticing that many youths, on daily basis, thronged Sale’s house to buy the chemical. (NAN)
