A Kubwa Grade1 Area Court, Abuja, on Monday sentenced a 20-year-old man, Ibrahim Suleiman, to one month imprisonment for criminal trespass and attempted theft.

Suleiman of Pipeline, Kubwa,  was convicted and sentenced over charges bordering on criminal trespass and attempt to steal.

The judge, Ibrahim Balarabe, however gave Suleiman an option of N3, 000 fine, and warned him to desist from committing crime.

The prosecutor, John Okpa, had told the court that one Danjuma SarkiFada, reported the matter at the Kubwa Police Station on Dec.31.

He said Suleiman acted in a dubious manner and criminally trespassed into Junior Secondary School, Kubwa 2,  with intent to steal.

He further said while Suleiman attempted to escape, he was chased and arrested, adding that the offences contravened the provisions of Sections 342 and 287 of the Penal Code.

Suleiman had pleaded guilty and begged for leniency.
