A 23-year-old Tolani Faseyi, who broke into a house and damaged a window valued at N3,000, is to spend the next 13 months in Kirikiri Prisons.

Faseyi was jailed by an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court on Thursday following his plea of guilty on a three-count charge.

The Chief Magistrate, Mrs A.A. Adetunji, however, did not give the convict an option of fine.

The convict, whose address was not provided, was arraigned on a three-count charge bordering on unlawful entry and stealing.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the convict made his first appearance in court on June 4.

The prosecutor, Insp. Matthew Akhaluode, had told the court that the accused committed the offences on May 23 at No.7, Lawal St., Igesun in Ayobo area of Lagos.

Akhaluode told the court that the accused conspired with another person now at large to unlawfully gain entry into the complainant’s room, Mrs Elizabeth Lawal, with intent to steal.

He said that in the process of entering the room, the complainant’s window valued at N3, 000 was damaged.

Akhaluode said that the accused held the complainant on the neck.

According to him, she raised an alarm and the accused was caught, while the accomplice escaped through the window.

The offences contravened Sections 310 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015 (Revised).
