Man bags 2 months imprisonment for mischief

A Karmo Grade 1 Area Court, Abuja, on Thursday sentenced one Luka Ayuba, to two months in prison for mischief.

The judge, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq, however, gave the convict an option to pay N5, 000 fine.

Ayuba of Life Camp, Abuja, was convicted on a count charge.

The convict pleaded guilty to the offence, and begged the court to temper justice with mercy.

Earlier, the prosecutor, Zannan Dalhatu, had told the court that one Emeka Fidelis of Kurudu, Abuja, reported the matter at the Utako Police Station, Abuja, on April 4.

He said on the same date, at Jabi Motor Park, Abuja, the complainant was assigned by the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), to direct motorists where to park their vehicles.

Dalhatu said the convict blocked the entrance with his car and the complainant confronted him, the convict went to where the complainant parked his car and broke the windscreen valued at N18, 000.

The prosecutor said during police investigation, the convict confessed to the crime.

The offence contravened the provision of Section 327 of the Penal Code. (NAN)
