Man beheads son for money rituals

A man has been taken into police custody in Delta State after he was accused of killing his son for money rituals.
Volt Gabriel, 33, allegedly beheaded his 20-month-old son, Godspower, Police Commissioner Mohammed Ali said.
The police commissioner said the incident occurred at Peanut Junction, Obeh village, Edo State.
Ali, in a statement yesterday, said a woman Mrs Success Oduwa, 24, reported the disappearance of her son to the police.
He said the victim’s mother asked her husband of the boy’s whereabouts but he said he was with his sister in Warri.
Ali said the woman, on getting to Warri, discovered that her husband lied to her.
A police team at Warri “B” Division swung into action and arrested the suspect.
Gabriel reportedly confessed to dismembering his child with a hack saw and burying the head by a palm tree and throwing away the body.
The suspect claimed he was instructed in a dream that he would be wealthy if he killed his son and rubbed his head with the boy’s blood, police said.
“Upon interrogation, the suspect confessed to have murdered the said child at Ewabogun Bush by Catholic Road, Benin City using a hand saw to cut off the head and buried it by a palm tree in the bush and threw away the headless body of the child.
“The suspect also said he actually killed the child because of a dream he had, where he saw a man who told him that if he kills the child and use the child’s blood to rub his head, he will become rich.”
