Man docked for allegedly stealing 2 cellphones from house of worship

A 29 – year/ old man, Hammed Mufutau, was on Monday docked in an Iyaganku  Magistrates’Court in Ibadan for allegedly stealing two cellphones from a house of worship.

The police charged  Hammed, whose address was not given with breaking, entering and theft.

The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Prosecution Counsel, ASP Ibrahim Sikiru, told the court that Hammed on Sept. 6,  at about 8p.m  entered into a worship house  and allegedly stole two cellphones

Ibrahim said the defendant allegedly entered No.14,  Boluwaduro  Estate , Ido, Ibadan,  and stole an Itel cell phone valued N5, 500 and Techno cell phone worth N40,000.

He said the offence contravened the provisions of sections 390(9) and  412 of the  Criminal Code Laws of Oyo State 2000.

The Magistrate, Mrs S. A . Adesina, granted the defedant bail in the sum of N50, 000 with one surety in like sum.

Adesina adjourned the matter until  Oct 13, for hearing. (NAN)
