Man docked for allegedly stealing motorcycle in Asaba

An Asaba Magistrates’ Court on Friday granted bail to a 29-year-old man, Ifeanyi Ikechukwu, for allegedly stealing a motorcycle worth N350,000.

The Magistrate, Mrs Edith Anumodu, admitted the defendant to a bail in the sum of N50,000 with a surety in like sum.

She ordered that the surety must reside within the court’s jurisdiction and must submit affidavit of means.

Anumodu said the surety must also produce his two passport photographs to back his claim.

She adjourned the case until March 18 for hearing.

Earlier, the Prosecutor, Mrs Lovette Utebu, told the court that the defendant allegedly stole the KC Sanya Motorcycle on Feb. 15 at Nnebisi road, Asaba.

Utebu said the motorcycle belonged to one Nanzi Fale.

The prosecutor said the offence contravened Sections 516 and 390(9) of the Criminal Code, Cap C21, Vol. 1, Laws of Delta State of Nigeria, 2006.

The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the crime. (NAN)
