The Prosecutor, Insp. Abdul Wada, told the court that Umar, who resides at the same address as the defendant, reported the matter at Mandawari Police Station on May 9.

Wada said that the complaint informed the police that at 6:00 p.m., on the day, he had a disagreement the defendant, which resulted in the latter allegedly giving him several blows to the head and body.

“Umar said that the assault caused him injuries by removing one of his teeth and he was admitted to hospital for medical attention,” the prosecutor said.

Wada said that the offences contravened the provisions of Sections 158, 159 and 165 of the Penal Code Law of Kano State.

The Judge, Malam Umar Lawal-Abubakar, ordered the remand of the defendant in a correctional centre until the next adjourned date.
