Man in court for allegedly stealing iron material

A 23- year- old man, Opeyemi Adegboye, was on Monday arraigned before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing iron constructed material valued N71,000.
The defendant, a painter, who resides at Adewumi Adebuyi Street., Papa Ashafa, Agege, Lagos, is being tried for stealing.
The prosecutor, Insp Segun Oke told the court that the offences were committed on March 1 at Efunsetan Street, Papa Ashafa, Agege, Lagos.
Oke alleged that the defendant went to Mr Akeem Bankole and Mr Wasiu Abayomi’s shop, both complainants to steal iron construction materials valued N71, 000, but were arrested and handed to the police.
The offences, according to the prosecutor contravened section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The defendant, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Magistrate, Mrs M. C Ayinde, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N100, 000 with two sureties in like sum.
Ayinde adjourned the case until May 26 for mention.(NAN)
