Man jailed 2 months for stealing 3 mobile phones, valuables

AN Ota Magistrates’ Court in Ogun on Tuesday sentenced a 46-year-old man, Agu John to two months imprisonment for stealing three mobile phones and other valuable items worth N594,000.

John, whose address was not provided, pleaded guilty to burglary and  theft.

In her ruling, Magistrate A.O.Adeyemi sentenced John without any option of fine.

Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel, Insp E.O. Adaraloye told the court that the convict committed the offence on Sept.9 at about 2 a.m. at Asoore Village, Ota.

Adaraloye said that the convict broke into the house of Adenekan Akeem and stole three mobile phones and other valuable items worth N594, 000.

He said that the offence contravened the provisions of sections 390 and 412 of the Criminal Code, Vol.1, Laws of Ogun, 2006. (NAN)
