A man wearing a kippah head covering was hit multiple times in the eastern German city of Magdeburg in an attack that police assume had an anti-Semitic motive.

The man was attacked on the face and neck that made him suffered slight injuries to his face.

According to police, one man, who was in a group, had first tried to take the 22-year-old’s kippah by force in the city center; (kippah is a brimless cap, usually made of cloth, traditionally worn by Jewish males to fulfill the customary requirement).

The suspect hit the victim, an Iranian man from Magdeburg, until someone saw him, prompting the group to flee.

Meanwhile, the Police are looking for a group of four or five men between the ages of 18 and 25, as well as witnesses as part of investigations. (dpa/NAN)
