Mangal bags Niger Republic National Award

NIGER Republic President Muhammadu Bazoum will confer the country’s National Award on foremost Nigerian businessman and Chairman of Max Air, Alhaji Dahiru Mangal.

A letter addressed to the businessman from Nigeria’s Foreign Affairs Ministry indicated that the award would be conferred on him on Dec. 17.

The letter signed by Amb. Zubairu Dada, Minister of State Foreign Affairs, indicated that the ceremony has been slated to hold in Niamey, the Niger Republic capital.

It added that five other distinguished Nigerians would receive similar award during the ceremony.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Mangal is a foremost businessman who has large investment in Airline, transportation and construction sectors.

His company, Mangal Industries Limited, is currently constructing a $600 million cement plant and 50 megawatts captive power plant in Moba, Kogi.

The project, expected to be completed in early 2024 is being executed in partnership with a Chinese firm, Sinoma, and will deliver three million metric tons of cement per year.

Mangal is also a renowned philanthropist offering help and support to students, people with disabilities and internally displaced persons affected by conflict in Nigeria. (NAN)
