Business
WALE Adegbite, Chairman, Eagles Package Painting Ltd, Ogun has advised the Federal Government to redouble efforts in providing better infrastructure across the country to boost productivity of the manufacturing sector in 2020.
Adegbite gave the advice in an interview with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ota, Ogun on Monday.
He noted that improved infrastructure would make the manufacturing sector to produce at an optimal level. According to him, this will drastically lead to generation of more employment opportunities in 2020.
“There is the need for the Federal and State Governments to improve the nation’s road network as the deplorable state of the roads is impacting negatively on manufacturers.
“Do something about the state of our roads because the manufacturers are spending huge funds in transporting goods from one place to another.’’
Adegbite also urged the Federal Government to restructure the nation’s power system so that electricity supply could be improved.
This development, he said, would improve the purchasing power of both manufacturers and Nigerians.
He also commended the Federal Government for reviving the railway system, adding that it would address some of the challenges in the transportation sector. (NAN)
