THE Nasarawa Government has constituted a transition committee that will ensure smooth transition of power to the incoming administration on May 29.

Mr Mohammed Abdullahi, Secretary to the State Government, made this known in a statement in Lafia on Tuesday.

Abdullahi quoted Gov. Umaru Tanko Al-Makura as saying the committee was constituted in consultation with the Governor-elect, Abdullahi Sule.

He said the constitution of the committee followed due consultation with the governor-elect.

According to him, Nasarawa State Deputy Governor, Mr Silas Agara, will serve as Chairman of the committee, while the Deputy Governor-elect, Dr Emmanuel Akabe will also serve as the Co-Chairman.

Abdullahi will serve as Secretary of the committee.

“The committee will be inaugurated on Wednesday at the Government House by Al-Makura,’’ Abdullahi said.
