THE Speaker, Ogun House of Assembly, Mr Olakunle Oluomo, has urged the state workers to go beyond strike for salaries and wages to demand for what can add value to their earning.

Oluomo made the appeal in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abeokuta on Saturday.

“I want to charge Ogun State workers to continue doing their best for the state.

“Workers should go beyond embarking on strike for salaries and wages alone, they should agitate for those things that will add value to whatever they are earning.

“They should agitate for good education, free health care and infrastructural development and things that will lead to national development,’’ he said.

The speaker noted that civil servants play important role in the social-economic development of the state and country at large.

He assured that the 9th assembly would continue to pass bills and resolutions that would improve the state workers’ welfare. (NAN)
