THE Catholic Church has banned Rev Fr Ejike Mbaka, spiritual director of Adoration Ministries Enugu Nigeria, AMEN, from commenting on partisan politics.

In a letter to Mbaka dated June 3, Callistus Onaga, Catholic bishop of Enugu Diocese, announced the conversion of the Adoration Ministry to ‘chaplaincy’.

The letter stated the diocesan directives and guidelines for the conduct of the adoration ministry, adding that Mbaka still leads the chaplaincy but the bishop (Onaga) can appoint any ministerial officer “to assist the chaplains to oversee the pastoral activities of the ministry.” – with reports from The Nation
