A media practitioner, Mr. Gregory Odiakosa, has called on Nigerians to change their mindset that Nigeria of their dreams is no longer attainable due to her numerous past and present problems.

Odiakosa, who is the General Manager, Purity FM of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), made the call in Enugu on Friday during the launch of his book and album entitled `Libation for Nigeria’.

The radio presenter and convener of Naija Do Good Project (NDO) said Nigerians should continually express hope in the country in spite of its numerous challenges.

“We should be optimistic about this country and be hopeful. We should always see the good in the country and the roles we all can play to make Nigeria better.

“The essence of the book and album by NDO entitled Libation for Nigeria is to pray and consciously instill hope among Nigerians howbeit through literary delivery and music,” he noted.

Odiakosa explained that the idea to birth the Naija Do Good Project was conceived three years ago in Abakaliki, Ebonyi.

He explained that the objective of the NDO project was to effectively join in the evolution of a Nigeria where citizens would be awake to their responsibilities and where leaders would accord premium to human life and social justice.

The media chief said the target audience of NDO was young people so that they could be moulded to a particular specification at an early stage.

In his remarks, the Zonal Director of Radio Nigeria, South-East, Mr. Ike Okere, commended Odiakosa for his vision adding that Nigeria needed more of such people.

He encouraged Odiakosa not to be despair in his bid to achieve his objective because he must surely be faced with challenges.

The zonal director charged participants at the book launch to support such vision as Odiakosa’s while also pledging his support.

The reviewer of the book, Dr. Emmanuel Esom, said libation which connoted prayers, needed to be offered to the country.

Esom said libation should be poured for Nigeria as it faced political instability, frustration, blackmails before the arrival of its messiah.

The academician said the term libation as used in the book encapsulated a plea for good to come, a voice of prayer for good, a call for attention and a point of contact for something good.

He, therefore, called for a proactive nationalist orientation such as the Naija Do Good project.

The book launch was laced with poetry renditions of different theme and dance performances.
