MIGHTY Jets International Football Club of Jos, said it had increased the feeding allowance and match bonus of its players, as incentive for enhanced performance.

Ferdinand Mbum, the club`s General Manager, made the disclosure in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Jos.

Mbum said that to achieve the team’s target of better performance, players needed to be motivated, hence the management’s decision to increase their allowance and match bonus.

The general manager said that before now, players were given N6, 000 for feeding allowance for three days which is inadequate.

“When Governor Caleb Mutfwang came on board, he frowned against these practices.

“What we pay now is N2, 000 per meal, N6, 000 per day and N18, 000 for three days; if it is four days, they get N24, 000.

“We are planning to increase it to N9, 000 for feeding per day and N27, 000 for three day,“he said.

He said that for every home win, the players would  get  N10,000  and N20,000 for an away win, adding that it will double in  a couple of weeks.

“We all know that motivation is the biggest factor when it comes to producing results for athletes,’’ he said.

Mbum commended Mutfwang for his unflinching support for the club, adding that finance has never been a problem for the team.

According to him, the club received more than N100 million from the state government so far to prosecute its activities in the Nigerian National League (NNL) (NAN)
