MIGHTY Jets International FC of Jos are targeting maximum points against Yobe Desert Stars in Nigerian National League (NNL) opening game on Saturday.

The club’s General Manager, Ferdinand Mbum, charged players and the technical crew to approach the NNL Week 1 fixture with all seriousness, as only the three maximum points would matter.

Mbum, in a statement signed by the club’s Media Consultant, Jerry Udoh, said the game against the Yobe Desert Stars would be tough, but Jets had the capacity to subdue them.

The general manager expressed optimism that with what he saw during the screening and pre-season games, the team could do the job in Gashuwa and elsewhere.

“Yobe Desert Stars are a good team, but there is no point showing inordinate respect during the game,” he said.

According to the statement, Mbum bared his mind after the team trounced Pankshin Selected 6-0 in a friendly match played at the New Jos Stadium on Tuesday as the team prepared for NNL.

Mighty Jets International FC Sporting Director, Vincent Yohanna, also urged the players to give their best and earn a handsome reward.

“The club will fulfill its part of the responsibility by releasing all bonuses to our players whenever they deliver for the fans, starting with the opening game against Yobe Desert Stars on Saturday,” said Yohanna.

He added that Mighty Jets International FC hoped to build on their pre-season form in the 2023/2024 NNL season.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Mighty Jets will start their 2023/2024 NNL season against Desert Yobe Stars away in Gashuwa. (NAN)
