Jonah Jang, senator, retired Air Force officer, administrator and former governor of Plateau State, 72, March 13. Born in Du near Jos, Plateau State, Jang was educated at Riyom Primary School, Du-Jos, 1953-1956; Riyom Senior School, 1957-1959; Plateau Provincial Secondary School, Kuru, 1960-1964; Air Force Supply Operations Course, USA, 1972; Junior Command and Staff School, 1975, and Command and Staff College, Jaji, 1978-1979. Jang was commissioned as regular combatant officer, 1969. He was appointed military governor of Benue State, 1985-1986; military governor of defunct Gongola State, 1986-1988, and director of logistics, Nigeria Air Force, NAF, headquarters, Lagos, 1988. He was elected governor of Plateau State in 2007 and re-elected for second term in 2011. Jang was elected senator representing Plateau North Senatorial District in 2015.
