Chuka Momah, sport writer, microbiologist, commentator, historian and administrator, 65, October 28. He had his primary education at Ile-Ife and Modakeke in former Western Region of Nigeria. He later attended Government College, Ibadan, and Government Secondary School, Owerri, Imo State. He graduated from University of Nigeria, Nsukka. Momah worked for various multi-national pharmaceutical conglomerates such as JL Morison and Sons and Jones Nigeria Limited, Merck Sharp and Dohme Nigeria Limited; Nigerian Hoechst Limited; before retiring into private business in 1985. He has been a regular columnist for various publications and presented sport programmes on boxing, athletics, soccer, tennis and basketball for many years on the Network Service of the Nigeria Television Authority, NTA. Momah also wrote column for Newswatch magazine.. He is a fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Administrative Management. In 2010, he received the Confederation of African Tennis, CAT, award for his service to the game. In the same year, he also received an award from Newswatch for his contributions to the journalism profession.
