Sam Azoka Onyechi, chief executive officer, Inspection and Tests Nigeria Limited, ITL, 53, July 4. Born in Ogidi, Anambra State, he was educated at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, where he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in English. He founded ITL Training and Certification Limited, a specialist training school working in collaboration with The Welding Institute of UK, TWI, to train and certify Nigerians in welding inspection and non-destructive testing for the oil and gas industry. He is also a playwright and poet. His latest book of poems published in the United States titled: Miasma, is a satire of wasted opportunities in Nigeria arising from unbridled greed and leadership myopia.
