Minister pays condolence visits to families of deceased Kwara APC members

Lai Mohammed, the minister of Information and Culture, on Monday, November 19, visited the families of the Kwara All Progressives Congress, APC, members who died in a road crash between Omu-Aran and Oro in Kwara State on Sunday, November 18.

The minister, who was accompanied by Bashir Bolarinwa, the chairman Kwara APC; Tunji Olawuyi, the House of Representatives member-elect; Lola Ashiru, Kwara South Senatorial candidate and other state party officials, visited the families of the five deceased members in Arandun, Agbonda, Omu-Aran, Oko and Odo Owa, all in the Ekiti/Irepodun/Isin/Oke-Ero Federal Constituency, where the APC won a landmark victory at the polls on Saturday, November 17.

He also visited the two hospitals in Omu-Aran, where those injured in the accident are being treated, to personally wish them a speedy recovery. At Agbonda, the minister and his entourage attended the funeral service for one of the five deceased members, Ayobami Adekeye, an official of the party in Ajase Ward 2.

While visiting the homes of the deceased, the minister commiserated with their families, hailed the members for their supreme sacrifice for the emancipation of the people of Kwara and promised that the party will not abandon their dependants.
