Ministry of Interior Games to feature 2,226 participants-Minister

THE Minister of Interior, Lt,-Gen.Abdulrahman Dambazau (rtd), says over 2,226 athletes and officials will take part in the 2nd edition of the Ministry of Interior Games (MIGA).
Dambazau said this during the unveiling of the MIGA Logo and Marcus in Abuja.
He said that the event was slated to hold from Nov. 23 to Dec. 1 in Kaduna.
The minister also said that the 2226 participants would be made up of 1,410 athletes, 1,56 team officials, 155 technical officials, 126 securities, 24 federation officials, 45 medical, 60 media and 80 volunteers.
He said that the games would foster intra and inter-service relationship and reinforce the relationship between personnel in the service.
According to him, the objective of the games also include, to identify and select athletes that will represent the ministry/services in National and international competitions.
He said that 13 sports would feature with 90 events and 90 gold and silver medals to be won while there would be 110 bronze medals.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the Main Organising Committee, Alhassan Yakmut, said that the games would serve as a new ground for the ministry to expand the frontiers of talent developed
