MMA: 10 fighters clash at Sunday’s OFU Fight Night 2 in Lekki

ORGANISERS of the One Fight Ultimate (OFU) Fight Night on Saturday said that no fewer than 10 fighters are set to compete for honours at the OFU Fight Night 2, scheduled to hold on Sunday.

Chief Ifeobi Udo, the OFU President, told a press conference to herald the event coming up on April 16, expressed confidence in organising an entertaining show.

He urged lovers of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) to come out in numbers to come and experience what he sees as the mother of shows in the Nigerian sports entertainment as regards to combat sports.

“We are very excited to once again put our funds in what we believe would thrill fans and lovers of the mixed martial arts.

“We believe a lot of young and inspiring fighters in Nigeria can one day reach the world stage if we keep encouraging them by investing in shows like this to promote the sport.

“I’m confident the fighters are mentally prepared to give a good account of themselves as the venue is more than enough to spur them to perform at top level,” Chief Udo said.

Similarly, Sandra Minoz, the Coordinator, OFU 2, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the Red Bar Restaurant, Lekki, is going to be electrifying and the ambiance would be top notch.

She said the fighters are in great spirit and are confident of give fans a good account of their money spent to watch the event.

She urged MMA lovers to come and support the growing sport and be a part of history as “we discover the best fighters to come from the shores of the country”.

NAN reports that the main event of the night would see Nani Chima (Young Nightmare) slug it out with Ebenezer Imbu (Dr. Dragon) in the Bantamweight Category.

Goodluck Opara (D Invisible ) is squared-up against hard-fighting Philemon Brutus (Jeb Junior) in the lightweight category.

Samuel Ogedengbe (Sammy Black) is scheduled to fight Ozioma Orji in the welterweight division, while Geoffrey John (Skull) is billed to fight Chwukwumerie Okoli in a lightweight challenge and Faith Nwakwo slugs it out with Sylvia Adoki in an all-female kickboxing challenge. (NAN)
