Molade Okoya-Thomas Championship: Okafor, Usman win gold medals

CHINENYE Okafor, on Saturday, defeated Peace Rapu to claim the gold medal in the U-15 Girls Singles table tennis final match of the 56th Molade Okoya-Thomas Championship in Lagos.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the final of the tournament held at the Molade Okoya-Thomas Hall of Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos.

Okafor defeated Fajes TT club of Asaba’s Rapu in a narrow 3-2 win (11-7, 11-6, 7-11, 3-11, 11-8).

Also, Ayoola Usman trashed Ahmed Ayatullahi in their final match to win a gold medal.

Usman conquered Ayatullahi in a 3-0 win (11-8, 11-8, 12-10) in the Under 15 Boys Singles match to claim the gold.

NAN reports that the 56th Molade Okoya-Thomas Championship, which started on Jan. 27, ended on Saturday in Lagos (NAN)
