More than 200 players expected at 2 Div Nigerian Army golf tournament

NO fewer than 200 golfers are expected to participate in the 28th edition of the 2 Div Nigerian Army Tiger Golf Open Tournament scheduled for Friday and Sunday in Ibadan.
The Local Organising Committee (LOC) Chairman, Brig.-Gen. GC Nkenke, disclosed this in a statement on Monday in Ibadan.
Nkenke said more than 200 golfers had already registered for the tournament and 17 trophies were expected to be won.
He said the tournament was scheduled to hold at the Tiger Golf Club, at the Adekunle Fajuyi Cantonment in Ibadan.
”The Special Guest of Honour for the event is Gov. Seyi Makinde of Oyo State and the event will start with a Cocktail on Friday and end with a closing ceremony on Sunday,” the LOC chairman said.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Tiger Opens Golf Tournament is an annual event organised by the Headquarters 2 Div of Nigerian Army.
It is designed to promote interaction amongst golf enthusiasts in Nigeria, and it has grown over 27 years.(NAN)
