Mutfwang congratulates Okonjo-Iweala over reappointment as WTO D-G

GOV. Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau has congratulated Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, on her reappointment as Director-General of the World Trade Organisation (WTO).

Mutfwang, in a congratulatory message by his Director of Press and Public Affairs, Mr Gyang Bere, issued on Saturday in Jos, described Okonjo-Iweala as a “visionary” leader.

He further described her as an exceptional economist and expert, whose strategic foresight had continued to shape the future of global trading.

The governor further praised Okonjo-Iweala’s commitment toward addressing global economic challenges, describing her as a beacon of fairness, justice and empathy in championing an inclusive and equitable multilateral trading system.

“Her first tenure ushered in innovative reforms, strengthening the WTO’s role in fostering equitable international trade and driving global economic growth.

“I am confident that her continued leadership will further expand the frontiers of international economic relations among nations.

“On behalf of my family, the government and the peace-loving people of Plateau, I wish to extend my heartfelt congratulations over her reappointment.

“I pray for God’s continued guidance, wisdom and strength as she advances the noble task of nation-building and global economic development,”Bere quoted Mutfwang.(NAN)
