My Administration will Leverage on Creative industry to Boost State Economy, says Governor Adeleke

THE Executive Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke has declared his administration’s readiness to provide an enabling environment for the creative industry to thrive, noting that the sector will blossom under him.

Governor Adeleke made this declaration at the Afrotrad Festival held at Osogbo, highlighting plans by his government to leverage the creative sector to improve Osun state economy.

Governor Adeleke who identified the creative sector as one of the highest employer of labour in the world promised to look into whatever that will promote the industry and unleash benefits for the youth.

“Whatever you want us to do to promote this industry, just inform us and I want to assure you that we are going to look into it,” the governor assured, adding that “We will not allow your individual talents therefore to rot away.”

Governor Adeleke assured young people in the state of plans by his administration to make it possible for them to pursue their respective dreams, stating that the creative industry is one area that it is focused on exploring.

“Reasonably, the creative industry in Nigeria has become the major mainstay of the Nigerian economy. It is even pertinent to mention that the global acceptance and domination of our music and film industry today has further entrenched this domination,” he remarked.

“Let me assure you that the creative industry in Osun State will blossom through creative initiatives to drive growth and productivity in this sector.

“The PDP Government in Osun State is going to leverage on the close affiliation of the creative industry and the tourism sector to increase our Internally Generated Revenue.

“Let me use the opportunity of this programme to inform youths and their parents that our Government will put in place, all those things that will help to facilitate the development of our Youths”, the State’s Chief Executive posited.

The event was attended by top actors within the national and state entertainment industry.
