DR. Asue Ighodalo, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant for the September 2024 governorship election in Edo, on Wednesday said that his nomination and subsequent election will bring development to the state.

Ighodalo, who made this known while addressing Oredo PDP leaders and members as part of his ongoing state-wide tour in Benin, said he has proven track records and capacity to deliver dividends of democracy to the people.

He noted that, in terms of capacity and experience, he stood tall amongst other aspirants and appealed to the PDP members to nominate him to fly the party’s flag.

Ighodalo assured the people of Oredo of qualitative and people-centered governance if elected governor.

“If you nominate me as PDP candidate and by the grace of God, I become the governor of Edo State, I will bring more development to Oredo and make it great.

“This is because Oredo, over the years, has remain the heartbeat of Edo State and by extension, Nigeria.

“We must join hands together to make Edo greater as one individual can not do it alone. The issue of security will be given priority in the state, because without security, there will be no meaningful development,” he said.

Chief Osaro Idaho, a chieftain of the party, while responding on behalf of leaders and members in Oredo, disclosed that the people in the locality have adopted Ighodalo as their sole aspirant for the election.

“We are going to support and work for Ighodalo to become the next governor of Edo State,” he added.

“The leaders and members of the PDP in Oredo have adopted you, Asue Ighodalo, as our sole aspirant for the governorship election in Edo,” he disclosed. (NAN)
