SHOWMAX, an online streaming platform and TikTok have hosted the top five  finalists of the TikTok Naija Comedy festival which held from  Nov. 10.

Jennifer Ukoh-Osamwonyi, PR Manager, Showmax in a statement on Friday,  said that the top finalists were hosted alongside the famous content creator, Mr Macaroni, in a fireside.

” It was an exciting evening for the top five  finalists in the TikTok Naija Comedy Festival as Showmax hosted a fireside chat with the famous content creator, Mr Macaroni.

” The fireside chat was part of the reward for the five finalists who interacted with the content creator, asking questions and learning from his wealth of knowledge.

” The TikTok Naija Comedy Festival, powered by Showmax, is an online challenge where content creators publish their original comedy or skit on TikTok using the official hashtag #NaijaComedyFestival,” she said.

Ukoh-Osamwonyi noted that the videos with the hashtag received over 13 million views.

She said Showmax Jurors shortlisted the videos to the top 15, and the top five  emerged by public vote.

” The top five  include: Ndah Kerim (@BrodaWest), Peter Odeh (@funnymrpeter), Oni Daniel Oluwagboyega (@donixco), Ediri Egwolo (@mamaejiro1) and Paschal Chukwuebuka Nwokocha (@wakawaka_comedian).

” Mr Macaroni spoke on the need for consistency and putting out the work, collaboration and the possibility of evolving,” she said.

She noted that Showmax had remained committed to supporting young creatives, as this was just one of the many ways the brand remained true to that commitment.

She said The videos would be made into a compilation and be available on the streaming platform.

” Moving on, the top five will be creating videos that will get published as individual videos on www.showmax.com,” she said.

Mr Macaroni said, “You may feel stupid when you start content creation but you need to focus on where you are headed and who you want to be.

” Consistency is key and cannot be overrated.

“You need to keep putting in the work and not underestimate the power of collaboration.” (NAN)
